Orgullo Cómpeta Pride – Málaga

Each year, the beautiful Andalusian white village (pueblo blanco) of Cómpeta comes alive with the vibrant celebrations of Orgullo Cómpeta Pride. A colourful programme of music, entertainment, delicious food and, above all, fun brings together locals and visitors for a weekend that celebrates diversity, inclusivity and community spirit.

One of the festival's most eagerly anticipated events is the Carrera de Tacones – the High Heel Race. Spectators line the streets to watch, while the bravest participants don the highest heels and tackle a short but challenging downhill sprint over Cómpeta's, sometimes steep, cobbled streets. The race finishes in the bustling main square, where supporters fill the bars and restaurants, cheering on the runners and creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

As the evening unfolds, wine and beer flow freely, laughter fills the air, and the celebrations continue as day turns into night. When night falls, the DJ takes to the decks, transforming the square into an open-air dance floor where revellers dance beneath the stars.

Thank you, Cómpeta, for once again demonstrating your openness, tolerance and unwavering support for inclusivity and diversity. Events like Orgullo Cómpeta Pride are a wonderful reminder of the power of community and the joy of celebrating together.
